In October, I got to know that eligibility is recommended pass, criminality and security in process. In Nov, I also got an mail CPC Ottawa before and I got a reply that it's in queue for review. This morning, I have received this email from CPC-Ottawa. "Your file is currently under review and requires additional verification. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times" I am worried. Am about to order GCMS notes. AOR 14 Aug. Any insights anyone?

Order GCMS notes to be more clear on this. Did you receive these emails (or the last one) after you raise a CSE ? or is it directly from CPC ?

June Family,

So finally the time has come when I get to announce ... I have just received my PPR in my account. I just got a message in my email that I have a new message in my account. When I checked it was the Passport Request note.

This has been a one hell of a wait and really tough journey for me. May be one day I will write about other things as well. But for now I'm more relieved than happy. Saying that this wait has been tough is an understatement and I think only the folks waiting till now can really appreciate how it feels.

My sincere thanks and gratitude to each and everyone of you who have given me your best wishes and blessings.

My sincere thanks to folks who have sent me PMs just to cheer me up and keep me going (some who never post here and have an account just to wish me luck). No amount of thanks can ever repay for a gesture like that. I may have done something right here that some people feel that way for me.

I hope this excruciating wait ends for you all. I really pray for that. I know how it feels.

Hi guys I emailed IRCC and received this feedback today. Should I be worried ?

This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa.


Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.


Often, delays in the processing of an application are out of our control as some processing steps require coordination with external authorities.


Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.


Delays in the processing of visa applications are always frustrating to all concerned. We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.

I sent an email to CPC Ottawa on 4 Jan about tracking the status of my application. My AOR is on 5 June. I received the following reply. Can someone help me decipher the meaning of this response?


"This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa.


Please be informed that we are awaiting the results of some internal processing prior to the finalization of your application. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times. At this time, there is nothing that is required on your part. Your continued patience is greatly appreciated."

I just got this exact same response from CPC ottawa. Is this generic? Are they sending this type of messages to some specific applications? Because I am worried as well. I ordered for GCMS.

Great to see more and more guys getting PPR,espcially the known ones like @tobs,@cansha and all.Really happy but also sad as to when will our day come.

Btw my agent had mailed NDVO and Sydney,as my primary VO was Sydney.Instead of mailing to Sydney,NS,he mailed Sydney,Australia.Regardless to say,they sent a mail saying we cannot help with this file.

As per the mail sent to NDVO,got the following response:
Thank you for your e-mail. It has been received by the New Delhi visa office.

Please note that sending repeated case status enquiries or phone calls takes resources away from file processing, resulting in longer processing times.

Due to a high volume of inquiries we can only respond if you have an application in process. The service standard is 15 working days.

Now,this looks like an automated mail,even the subject said so.However,do you think the statement in bold regarding repeated reminders is imp?For a fleeting moment I thought it was highlighted by my agent,maybe even added by him in mail,as he has been telling me to have patience and was not in favor of mailing at all.

Overall,what is it that I can do guys?Any suggestions.Going to call CIC again on 17th.

P.S.Can anyone please share email ID for Sydney,Nova Scotia VO?

A couple of people are also waiting on NDVO. Give it a few days, don't panic.
Emailing Sydney doesn't do anything. But here it goes; cpc-sydney-fsw@cic.gc.ca

My visa office is outside Canada. Can this be the reason why real statuses of my application are not reflected in GCMS notes? I know that when some people call CIC, agents say that don't see status updates when application is being processed outside Canada.
Or this just means that nothing has been done about my application?

It’s generic email which people get after they cross six months and not much is done with their application. It’s just a way to say your application is delayed because we were unable to work on it and don’t know when we will work on it.

Don’t think about such replies as they will only work on your file when they get time. I still hope they clear your file as soon as possible.
