well its been 3 weeks in toronto and here is some news to lift everyone's spirits up.
housing is not as difficult as people claim. basement apartments and rooms are plenty and cheap as well 20 to 30 km outside the city.
Transit and bus network is very very good and cover almost every area. just use google map transit directions.
job market in IT is active. i managed to get an interview in 2 weeks, i did screw it up by revealing my usa salary at which point the interview was over. almost everyone asks for certification so get one by hook or crook or ameerpet, hyderabad.
groceries are not as expensive as people claim. similar prices to usa.
overall dont stress out and enjoy life in the new country.

Why should it be screwed up by your US salary? Was it too high for them to afford? And what is the average salary at junior level IT position(i.e web, software, database developer)? How easy or difficult to get IT help desk job?
Good wishes for you.

Yes if you were making a lot higher previously at a higher position they will assume you are a flight risk.
Average salary for junior level positions are 45K to 55K in the database field.
Received the same response within a day. Seems the officers dealing with CSE are very prompt. Lets just stay positive and wait for our turn for Batch PPR trigger.
