It means progress was made in your application, you don't see those changes. The last such update is when you're requested to submit your passports. Your application is moving forward.

So, last night I logged in to my cic account and the 'Current Status' showed 'Application Updated'. When I went to check the detailed application status, nothing had changed. This was on a saturday night.
On Oct 9th my application moved to ip2 with same kind of update. But only this time there was no change. Kinda confused!!!

Technically a ghost update as did not get an email for the same. May be not a ghost update as Review of Documents changed to Not Applicable and background check moved to We are processing your background check. My details are as under:-

RPRF - 24th July, 2018
IP2 - 13th October, 2018

Hopefully u will get PPR very soon
