Can someone pls explain what is IP2?

my timeline is:
AOR: June 05
MEP: June 15
no update after that.
Today I called CIC, agent said everything positive and Eligibility - recommended.
BG Check in progress.. dont know how long I need to wait...

Ip 2 is when it says ' We are processing your background check' in the background check field when you log into your account online.

I submitted at Chandigarh on 5 Oct 2018 next day got update that your application is received, Another update on 9 oct 2018 - Your application has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office, on 08/10/2018.
Got another update today --
Dear Applicant/Cher(e) Client(e),
We would like to inform you that your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office, on 12 Oct 2018 to the Canada Visa Application Centre.
Waiting for further update
I think for Applicants residing in INDIA it does not matter at which VFS you submit your passport, it will go to New Delhi for processing and visa stamping.

Don't worry mate.. Now you moved to IP2 which means most likely your eligibility is Passed which is the biggest hurdle, In land applicants seems to stay longer at IP2 but as your work permit expires soon, Your case might get priority processing and you will get PPR before your work visa expires !

I'm in the same situation as you. No movement since medicals passed; applying from Taiwan as well (not Taiwanese), and have over 35 destinations (I maxed out the number of trips).

Do you know what office is processing your file?

CPC Ottawa as far as I know.

To all who have been waiting long and not had any updates. I know someone who had a similar situation and the file didn't move at all from IP1 stage, yesterday he received a COPR. So there is some movement going on and hopefully next 2 weeks will clear out a lot of outstanding cases. Happy Weekend all.

You’re right and I’m sure the files are being processed at back end. There are numerous similar examples here too.

Great..Hope i get mine too by next week.. I had sm issue in getting alerts frm VFS so dnt knw d status yet..Hav already complained abt it..Online it shows tat it is being processed at Canada visa office..Wat does ur online status show
