I'm not sure why people are under the impression senior officers review gcms notes before they are sent out. They have more important things to do. The review and redaction of security notes can be done by interns or at best automated.
Yeah dude, Nov 15th landing.
and I said this before as well... the processing is little slow right now due to influx for student visas and work permits and also... there are few organization level changes were on in iRCC... few new directives... it was all over news in Canada
Mate you give us a lot of useful info. Yes, it seems there are factors which is slowing down processing "http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/enewsletter/index.asp" provides more info. Regarding the whole GCMS notes discussion here, i couldn't restrict myself involving in it. one can apply for gcms notes as many times so if you feel this would expedite your application processing then do it (i don't see a downside here even if its not true). There is no point in debating it here or proving it to anyone vice-versa.
Now remember people who "Applied: before December 31, 2014" had been given 45 months as processing time on other hand we are given 6 months. isn't that fast enough? Be patient, if information provided by you is genuine, your application will get through regardless of how much time it going to take? .. Remember patience means "the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious." and we always rush to fail. I wish you all a very good luck
Skilled workers (Federal)
Applied: before December 31, 2014
This is from a retired Canadian foreign service office..
And I quote specifically from his article -
"Even in the case of visitor visa applications visa officers are expected to note up the reasons for their decisions in the GCMS electronic visa processing system. This takes time, sometimes a lot of it."
Naa man.. even i was in same think spot u r on.. until i met someone in ottawa who is actually an officer at ircc... and i was really surprised when he told this... i was like oryt.. my bubble burst but its good
from what it appears I guess they are now processing March/April applications.. I guess most of the straight forward applications in May/June must have been processed - I mean the ones with low travel history, no complications, one or two jobs etc.. now we appear to be the sediment..
But I still hope the applications will be through latest before Dec 2018... and I am sure my application is one of the most complicated ones...

How much time usually it takes ? 6 months as per the immigration portal ?
Sorry i dont have answer for ur question but it would be great if you can tell me on how do u know ur visa is processing from hongkong via office group ?
Most probably yes..Rprf is requested after junior analyst reviews ur application and finds it ok for further process..So yes it is a gud sign..
But again the process has slowed down. Its been 2 months since I received Rprf request..No update after that..
