For all us Security Not Started folks, I have been reading some of @legalfalcon's posts, and he says security can take 2-3 months to complete... So do you think it would be wise to plan to wait for at least 2 to 3 months before PPR? That would radically change my plans...

I am waiting on your update.. As your gcms was withheld like @gau55555. I hope we all security not started folks get cleared with your batch.

I agree with everything you said except the part about reminder. Unfortunately, calls anad CSEs don't expedite thing as different people are responsible for them. Calls and CSE agents do not have any impact, they just take a glance at your GCMS notes, if you were lucky to get them to do so.

you are right, CSE and calls don't expedite anything as different people are responsible for them. Agents do not have any authority to do anything except taking a glance at your notes (with hundreds of pages) and tell you a description of your status.

I know man that statement of more of a rhetorical one. Not that they take these modes too seriously given the kind of responses we get.

There is an option that asks if they are accompanying someone who has newly received status in Canada - and we have checked yes for that option. The glossary mentions COPR and immigrant visa as items that qualify as "status in Canada." As I am not a PR yet, we have not answered yes to the question that asks if any of their family members is a PR or citizen. We are mentioning that they are accompanying their daughter who has recently obtained status in Canada. But the documents required still lists invitation letter. We dont have immediate family in Canada and my parents will stay with me while they are in Canada. What are my options? Any idea?

You can't invite them until you have landed pr status. Your parents need to show enough financial ability to sustain in Canada for intended travel period. They aslo need to provide detailed day to day travel itinerary and show accommodation arrangements and medical/ travel insurance. They must show strong family ties and job/business ties in your home country along with employment documents (i.e job confirmation letter, holiday letter etc) or business ownership documents(i.e business registeation, tax documents, bank account etc.) and provide a signed declaration paper where they should confirm that they will come back to home country within the planned travel period. They need to show six months bank statement with satisfactory balance and transactions. Other documents such as marriage certificate and your birth certificate are also needed.

Invitation later is not compulsory if they are going as tourists. Please search this forum in the visitor section, you will find answers, specially tag members like Scylla and Bryanna.
