I just phoned CIC, and was told that the letter was out yesterday. I will have my oath ceremony on 8/19. I took the test on 6/19. Call CIC today and find out.
Hi there,
We appeared for our Citizenship test on July 17.
No letter yet for the oath ceremony and no change in Ecas. Any update for other July 17 test takers?
I am curious to know if the status update online is detailed such as the ones you reported below, ie:
"sent you a notice on June 20, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 9, 2014 "
"sent you a notice on July 31, 2014 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on August 15, 2014 "
My question is, will you be able to know when your test & Oath dates are just by looking at the status updates online? The reason being that I might be leaving the country after I send in my citizenship application.

yes they are as detailed.. They tell you date and time but no location .. The ones i stated above are actually Summarised, i cut out the unnecessary details.

Once your application is acknowledged as received and "in-process", you should be able to see notifications for test and oath electronically and remotely. What you can't do is phone the CIC call centre outside Canada.
Please take note that these notices are sent just a few weeks (sometimes just one or two before the actual event). Please take that into consideration when deciding to leave as you may find yourself in a difficult situation to book travels.
Also, CIC officers are instructed (based on CP 5 Residence guidelines from CIC), to doubt residency should an applicant appears at interview/testing with a very recent travel stamp on their passport. So be aware of the risk of getting a residence questionnaire or being asked for additional documentation to support your residency claims.
