You can also check your status if you link your application online, regardless of how you filed it. I submitted my files paper-based/offline as well and linked it online after a couple of weeks.

My brother submitted his student visa application at chandigarh vfs on 10th july and we tried to link application online but every time unsuccessful.

Many colleges have extended date of starting classes for 2 weeks. So don't worry about it. All the best. I hv applied on 13th Jul offline. and still waiting. My college has extended date of start to 18th Sept from 5th Sept.

I applied online on 9 July 17. Letter for biometric received on 11 July 17. Biometrics done on 13 July 17. I provided copy of UpFront medical exam. Now my application status shows Biometrics completed, Medical Exam passed. Other than things are processing. My classes will start on 6 Sep 17. Now waiting for CIC visa approval.

i applied on 6 july, got a couple mails saying we are processing your application. and today morning i recieved the reason

i had applied through vfs mumbai and i had given 10th 12th & diploma marksheets along with 2 work experience certificates
copies ielts & medical were also given . fee payment for the first semester and scotia investment also .

Wrong!!!!take a look at their holidays list they don't take off for Indian holidays. They only have Canadian holiday's even in Indian it's not a holiday on all states for rakshabandan
