Right now, it's crazy. 3-5 months I guess ...

Applied visitor visa for Spouse on new VV portal- 18th July 2022
Application approved and PPR: 13th August 2022

Spouse in India, I am a PR in Canada.
Spouse also has previous travel history to Canada.

I came across a thread and got me thinking. If reason to travel or date of mentioned travel in application form passes without any decision on visa application, do they reject visa application or they process as normal?

My tentative travel date was Aug 16, 2022, i.e today, but I haven't heard back from them so there's not much I can do. But I'd like to know the answer to this question too, as it becomes a bit futile if the occasion/ purpose of travel is no longer there. So, it would be interesting to find out the Visa officer's take on it.

Biometric Completed : 13-Jul-2022
Biometric updated : 13-Jul-2022
Medicals passed : 29-Jul-2022

After that no updates in the profile... I can see there are few profiles which they submitted after JUL 10, got PPR or at least got an update of their review on eligibility started .. but for me nothing started.... bit worried...

Please share your views.... on how long it will take ...

I am planning to apply Visitor Visa for my Mother (from India) who is alone in India and my father is no more , can I apply now or should i wait till my Spouse & Son Got Visitor Visa ... Please suggest.

Hoping somebody could help me on this.,
I have applied a Tourist/Visit Visa for my mom., I have submitted the application last 1st week of May 2022, the she had completed her biometetrics last May 13, 2022 and now I have received an email from IRCC requesting a non-EDE medical for her. I am just surprised that they have requested medical because I only applied for a visit visa for her that she can stay in canada for 6months. Does it requires medical now for tourist visa?
