I didn't get any email but when opened my cic it was showing application updated. There is no change everything looks same.

Same here. Got that earlier, and now it's back to "Submitted" status.

Why can’t you start already? I am in the position but what’s ur reason?

Because I got ITA 25th June, and my work permit expired just 2 days before. I had to apply for visitor as I could not apply for bridgint work permit (for that I needed AOR) and my AOR is July 11th. Right now I am on visitor and cant work untill I get my COPR, living of my savings since.
It is very confusing

did they call you for biometrics or you had them in file before? if they did call you could you tell me how much time between receipt of BIL and the call from service canada?

I got my BIL on Sept 01
and received the call was on 29th sept, bio done on 02 october (got updated same day on cic)

The city I live in is not very populated, so not lots of immigrants here. May be thats how I got the call earlier.

Timeline is in my signature. Also, I saw it around 9 AM Eastern. Went back to normal in the afternoon.

I was thinking what GU means, and I thought probably it means ghost update?!

I find it funny people are so lazy to type 'ghost update' that they invent acronyms that makes it hard for most of others to understand!!

The same goes with many questions posed on the forum, they are either already answered or information is easily available through a web search. So called experts or seniors on the forum do much the same; search, copy, paste and may be add some extensive legal jargon when only brevity and simplicity are key.
