Isn't this email just a 'new message' notification, to check the real message within the portal?

Yeah from what I have read, it's through email and no CIC updates. Please keep a tab on your Inbox!

Nope, in my case, i dint received any new notification . Till the time my COPR was not triggered , my potal was showing IP2 status.

That is kind of worrisome, to just rely on the email to know about the PPR... I have received 3 notifications so far, but none when I moved to IP2.

The notifications I received so far were not filtered as spam. Hope it keeps like this.

I received 3 from donotreply@cic.gc.ca with "Your application has been updated." message.

The first was "Confirmation of Online Application Transmission" on July 15
The second, "Acknowledgement of receipt - Application for permanent residence" on July 15
The last one, "How to find a job in Canada" on Aug 14

Since then, nothing... Only knew about IP2 because I noticed that the "background check" text changed.

The first was "Confirmation of Online Application Transmission" on July 15
The second, "Acknowledgement of receipt - Application for permanent residence" on July 15
The last one, "How to find a job in Canada" on Aug 14

Since then, nothing... Only knew about IP2 because I noticed that the "background check" text changed.

Those are generic mails .. even i also received. But in my case when PPR was triggered , i dint received any notification.
The only Change i saw was my profile has been approved in the potal and a SMS notification to collect the Passport from Local Visa office after CoPR was triggered.

Unless there is ADR, I don't think so there will any more notifications. PPR is mail. When did you move to IP2?

I also called yesterday, the agent told that eligibility is recommended passed, criminality and security not started and file is currently at Centralized Intake Office Ottawa. The main thing is that eligibility is the most critical part of the application and it's good to know that as per the program analyst and case officer the eligibility is recommended passed. Now, the criminality and security are left and once they are done, the file will move to a visa officer for final review.
