My suggestion is that you wait for your documents to be returned, have everything ready and resend as soon as you get your application back.
CIC received my application on July 20th 2012 still they dint charge my credit card, 2 times i got my file back because for the birth certificate, issue but this time I send original from back home, every time when I got my file back exactly after 3 weeks so am bit scared this time too since it’s going to be 3 weeks. :'( :'( :'(

In instances where documents are returned to users for incorrect or missing information, would people say that this would be a good argument for using a representative when submitting the initial application? I had my initial doubts over certain documentation, which is why I ended up using a lawyer....opinions?
Yes, in those instances and others such as affordability. If you are not using a representative, and you are in doubt pick up the phone and call in your question or post on it on the forum. I feel like youre trying to justify your decision. This truly comes down to your confidence and comfort level in the application process. Now if you just can't seem to get the application right, its probably best to hire one.

trying to list the application received date for all. You had said end of July, so I added at end of the list. What was your application received date, if you don't mind your data being listed..
