Hi july2012, yes my status got changed to In Process however after 1 week it changed back to Application received. I am not sure why and how come this happened. :-[
You're not alone in the status change situation. I'm a June applicant and My application was 'in progress' since October (after getting my AOR). Earlier in January it changed to 'Application Received'. Not sure what this means though. I just hope its nothing negative and just a procedure change (the millions that cic usually has).
Is it necessary in your aor to have an officer number.. cause I did not have one, it was just a generic mail mentioning the file number and receipt of fees thats it..

It should not be a problem, I never had one in my AOR email too. The file number and the fee receipt are what matter anyway. You should be able to view your file in E-CAS with in a week or so using that file number or your UCI. Good luck!
I would suggest you definitely apply for the bridging work permit. This is a new golden option that was not available before. But as you may know you can only apply while you have a valid work permit. So you won't have the option after your WP expires. Also if you decide later once your WP expires that you'll apply for one, your require a Labor Market Opinion etc which is a very difficult process.
I am a June applicant and things are going very slow as far as hearing from CEC. With Immigration there is no saying when you will actually get your PR. I would apply for the bridging WP for sure. If you get your PR well and good but if you don't then you've saved yourself from a lottttt of hassle. Good Luck.
