Thanks Mitali. I probably haven't achieved much in Canada unlike many others. My real achievement is to be a privileged part of my friendship circle, who have stood by each-other through thick and thin. They have made everything possible and selflessly done a lot lot for others. This forum has some real gems, and I consider you to be one among them. I am proud to be writing this on the "Friendship Day". Happy Friendship Day and may God bless you.

I liked the way you deciphered yourself as Badshah Shahruk Khan....love that totally.
I am really proud of you....and I am glad too that I got a chance to bond with you on this day. Hope to see you and all the other GEMS of this forum who have somehow managed to concentrate on the Eastern side of Canada.
I must say that I am impressed by your humility to describe your achievements.....and I have made it a point to learn this skill.

Congratulations and Ramadhan Mubarak to you. Truly a blessed move for you as you managed to find a job so quickly. I wish you the best of luck in your new life in Canada. Please pray for us to have the same luck as we plan to inshallah land in October come back to London and move permanently early next year.
How much cash did you have with you Bro Imran when you landed?I read that we have to inform visa officer if we want to carry 10K CAD with us.and where that visa officer is to whom we are supposed to inform?
I brought around 13000$ in form of DD and cash. In plane they will give you a Custom Form to fill up...In that form you have to mention the amount of money u r carrying. It is no advisable to carry full cash. Get the DD or Travelers cheque for some amount and keep some cash
CONGRATS Imran, people like you make this forum so special. Thanks for sharing your experiences. My story was almost similar when I landed here in 1999. I don't think you will have any reason to look back now. Canada is indeed amazing, and the transition is never a shock or disappointment, if you are resilient, informed and equipped. Your decision of coming alone was also perfect, which is indeed highly recommended. Keep doing well in life buddy !!
congratulations on your successful experience ... could you tell us how did you find out where to apply for jobs? newspapers? job websites? local community?
Thanks for sharing your landing experience, nice to read it and I think everybody has enjoyed it. I pray that Good Luck prevails for you in future also.
