U aren't alone... many, incl me, had choked throats!
But, it's an eye-opener, a guideline for how to go about our settlement process here. Josh did a yeoman's service to this community by posting it here even though he never kept much touch with this forum, or any other for that matter.
This is a little what I suspected from reading other peoples posts. It is a little scary though at the amount of hardship Josh had to face. I have to really wonder if I could go through that
This is in part why I think I want to go for a qualification in Canada as opposed to simply jumping into the job search. Especially at postgraduate level, universities might help place you and so forth. Even if I have to do a second masters.
Also going over without children does help a little as well. Takes off some pressure. I don't think I could have taken the risk Josh did if I had kids...
Many thanks to Josh for sharing an incredible and inspiring story and to Qorax for posting it here!
That's a real motivation booster for those of us who just started a PR application.
I'd also like to add that it makes sense to apply for Canadian work permit if the profession is regulated at the same time when filing a PR application.
I believe It can shorten the period of holding "survival jobs". So, instead of waiting for 3-4 months after landing for educational credentials to be assessed, it's better to do it at home before departure.
As u do not have a Canadian Exp & also that u r going back to india, ur best option is to file under FSW. For that, go to the CIC website, click immigration, click FSW and take-it on from there. Whereafter, u should download the guide & all applications, fill them up and send it to CIC.
Besides FSW, ur choice could also be CEC, PNP etc. All depends upon ur requirement. Further if u need any help, we are all available for u.

Strange I missed this post for so many months! There's a reason as to why quorax is the highest rated member (at least the highest rated member I know); I mean, +2000 likes, holy f***!!!
