I got a surprise reply few minutes back to my email on saturday to the consulate informing me that my Visa has been approved and has been dispatched via VFS. .. This was followed by SMS's from VFS.
Thanks a lot for all your help , support and motivation during this very frustrating period...

I had to choose Fortis because Elbit did not have appointments for the weekend that i was planning to do the tests. All my colleagues did their tests at Elbit during weekedays and the report was recieved/visa approved in a weeks time. I did my test at Fortis and it took 3 weeks for my visa to be approved. Ofcourse this is purely based on 3-4 cases that i have seen and it might be that Fortis has also sends reports faster but for the Deepavali/Rajyotsava vacations that came in way during my tests.
The first and the foremost thing would be to send your scanned medical reciepts and acknowledgement that you recieved from Fortis to CHC via the WEBFORM/E-Mail and also via FAX as suggested by one of the experts. Secondly it wouldbe wise to go in person and confirm with Fortis if they have already sent the medical reports to the consulate. They would be able to key in the IME number on the medical report acknowledgement and let you know instantly if the reports have been sent. Finally in your case if the passports are with the applicant then it means that the consulate is still doing some processing on your application and you need to worry.
I have recently received medical request & will be going in coming days. Just wanted to ask since you are from mumbai, which practitioner should i prefer, One in the grant road or one in Lilavati (Bandra).
Where did you have your medicals done? I m willing to go to Grant road one since they are giving me the date i want
