I was reading the thread and got confused with taxes question, one person is saying we should say yes and second saying no. kindly please advice what to do. will really appreciate it. I selected NO for did you file taxes for this year 2024. and selected NO again for were you required to file taxes for this year

Well you should select no for did you file taxes for 2024( because season taxes didn’t start yet) and select yes for you will file taxes for the second. This’s the normal thing to do in my opinion

No new AORs yet? Our application was done online on the 16th, so we're at 11 days today. Hoping we follow the trend of 11 to 12 days!

We've been in Canada since 2012 and PRs since 2015, so it's been a LONG time since we got here, and this never really bothered me before. But now that we've applied, I'm OBSESSED!

Refer to the documentation that IRCC provides.
Who can apply? "Have filed your taxes, if you need to".
You may need to file taxes in Canada for at least 3 years during the 5 years right before the date you apply.

Seen a few posts talking about the same query. The requirement is minimum 3 out of 5 years preceding your application. If you satisfy that, you are OK. People are yet to receive their tax receipts for 2024 and hence it is logical if you haven't files your 2024 taxes yet. Normally, the intent is to file taxes for every year.

So, indicate in your application that you haven't filed for 2024, and the subsequent answer can be "Yes" for .. Were you required to file taxes for this year? (I know it is confusing due to the tense in the question, but say Yes if you file taxes every year).

Applied for expedited processing due to job obligations but they may or may not accept it.

I submitted on Dec 6th and never got AOR. I called IRCC beginning of Jan and they said there is no application on file (even though I had a submission confirmation email and they could see the payment). I have no idea how an online application gets lost. Anyway, the agent forwarded a request to Sydney office so they can get back to me, and they never did. So I ended up applying again with the same payment on Jan 11th (had to create a new account with a different email address), and I got AOR on that one.

I am not saying this is your case, but it doesn't hurt to call.

Did you use immigration consultant in the past? If yes, it's going to them.
