• The security background verification has not been initiated.

Not quite sure if that means eligibility review required OR eligibility review in process.

I think different agents use different words to explain our application status. There are no standard words used by them.

As I replied to your post on Friday, the ghost update you had received might have been for CPC change (after CIO completed R10) and Eligibility would be under review.

Background verification is in process

Application continues to be at CIO - Sydney.

Could you help me understand what is current status of my application ?
PNP- Outland : Ontario : CRS 1036: Number of applicants : 1+1 = 2
AOR: 16th January 2020
Biometrics Collection request: 1st February 2020
MEP : 1st February 2020
Biometrics Completion: 6th February 2020

I had called IRCC in first week of March and was conveyed that -
Criminality - Passed
Eligibility - Not started
Security - Not started

Number of Emails received -
2 emails on 1st February 2020, with almost the same timestamp. Subject : "We sent you a message about your application "
1 email on 2nd February 2020, Subject: "We updated your application status"

Other Ghost update -
12th March 2020 - No change in the details of the application. Just the status was "application updated".

Current information in the profile -

Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results February 1, 2020 You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics February 6, 2020 Completed.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I have similar application Status visible online. I am outside Canada. I also want to check status over call from IRCC. Please share calling details.
