My status is same as yours:

Eligibility - Passed
Security - Valid
Background - Valid
Criminality - Valid

Visa Office - Montreal

I am also currently staying in the USA.


Can someone please tell us how soon we can get PPR email. Also, is there any difference between valid and pass?

No surprise for inland applicants as some of them have started receiving COPRs. But I am yet to see any outland applicant receive a PPR. Still waiting

The progress bar just shows the time elapsed. It has nothing to do with the actual processing.

Once a recommendation has been made by a case processing agent, the officer will go with it. However, the officer can make a contrary finding, though very unlikely. I have seen GCMS notes where the case processing analyst made a recommendation of not met and the officer reversed it to Passed.

If your recommendation is passed, no need to worry.

hi, i just received my GCMS notes. its quite lengthy document so i wonder if you could help me understand.
on page 2 assessment section: eligibility, criminality and medical showing PASSED and info sharing showing complete. while on page 87 case analyst has made a recommendation of PASS and ready to finalize. i would like your opinion on the" recommend pass" and "ready to finalize". what steps in your opinion are left after this recommendation. many thanks

Can anyone please share some info regarding how long it takes to start security after eligibility is passed. I called CIC twice on July 22 and today on 26 Aug. same reply from agent that everything is passed, but security not started. My VO is Ottawa. Inland CEC.

For most application the security starts immediately after eligibility is passed. However, the security is a 2 stage process. You can read my older post on this which explains the process available at #3,199

In web form reply What is meant by "The responsible office has verified if your application meets the eligibility requirement under the immigration program for which you have applied". Does it mean passed?
