Anyone who got their biometrics done in the US at a USCIS ASC, do we need appointments or can we just walk-in? The earliest appointment on their online scheduler is showing 2 weeks from now but would be nice to have it done this week.
Application Received : 24th Jan
AOR: 08th March
Medicals Request: 11th March
Medicals done : 18th March.
File Transfer to Mississuaga Office : 19th March
Biometrics Request: 31st May
Biometrics Completed : 04th June
Decison Made: 11th June
You won't get significant information from your calls. Those calls go to different people than the ones that are handling your file/application. They always give out suuuuper general information.

When I had my biometrics appointment last week, the security guard started talking to the employee who was helping me and asking him if walk-ins were possible with people submitting biometrics to Canada (I had an appointment so the question wasn't related to me being there). Just based on what I heard them discuss, there was confusion among staff at this site as to whether appointments were mandatory for people submitting biometrics to Canada because IRCC had sent out an email informing USCIS that appointments should be required for these applicants. But the confusing aspect for the USCIS employees (at least at this site) was that the biometrics collection letter only gives applicants 30 days to submit biometrics, so I had heard them say that just a few days earlier they had allowed a walk-in to submit her biometrics without an appointment in order to meet the collection deadline.
Anyway, point of the story is that IRCC is telling staff at USCIS centers to require appointments to submit biometrics for Canada, but you may get lucky and be allowed in without an appointment, though again, they are being explicitly told by IRCC to require appointments. It honestly just depends on the staff at your specific location. I would only suggest attempting a walk-in if you have a USCIS center nearby, but if it's hours away, then wait for your appointment.
Hello guys, I just received the ghost update. My question is: on the ppr, do I need to submit a photo of my wife who is already a Canadian citizen (the one who is sponsoring me)?

I honestly didn’t keep track of my timeline. I’m from the USA. My wife is Canadian. I’m wondering about the photo request because it mentions all your accompanying family members (which of course would include my wife).

I’m just trying to estimate when I’ll hear from them lol you don’t remember the received date?
Accompanying family means everyone your spouse is sponsoring along with you. Your spouse doesn’t count as she is the sponsor and already a Canadian citizen.

Hi...i applied for my spouse who is in pakistan. It says they received my application on Dec 11 2018. And he completed his medical in end of feb 2019. On the site it says medical results have been received. And for the last few months there has been no update? is this normal? what will be the next steps? i didn't know it would take this long..

Do you not have access to GCKey? If it says ‘your medical results have been received’ on ECAS that means you have passed otherwise they would have notified you of additional tests by now.
