My husband did his police check and was sent with the app. What's the biometric for?

As far as i remember, biometrics is for identity purpose. When ur husband enters canada he will be asked to give fingerprints and it will be verified with what he gave during biometrics. Plus it will also be used for security reasons in future.

Same here . Paid fees already and waiting for biometric ...even on the letter it says we will send you instruction when your file is processed . So hope they process file soon . Anyone also waiting after paying bio fees ? Thanks

Hi everyone,

The principal applicant received a request for additional documents to be sent to Hong Kong VO where our application has been transferred to. Is it alright if I (sponsor) send the documents even though I am not his representative? The thing is, I once send my husband some stuff and it never reached him, and I have some of the original forms and I don't wanna take a chance by sending them to him and having him send them in if that makes sense because we do have a 30 day deadline. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to do both. The police certificate is a separate request from biometrics.

you will be getting your biometric request later for sure. Police Cert/ RCMP is different from Biometric.

@rbbt0824 @LostinSpace --- I'm in Buffalo so that's where I'll be going when I get my biometrics request. Did you have to set up an appointment in advance? I saw that things were changed at that office from the canada immigraton website and no longer accepted walk-ins so just wanted to make sure. Also does that office submit to CIC? Or do they give something for the applicant to upload?

sorry must’ve missed your message, yes now they require appointment to have the biometric done. Remember to bring all 3 pages of the biometric instruction, I know it sounds like an odd suggestion but I didn’t print out the 3rd page on that day just because I was being a smarty pants thought the last page was useless…but they do require to have all pages when going to the appointment!! Good thing was I came to my appointment early so I had time to print before my appointment expires..anyway the staff are very friendly I’m just not sure why the officer handling my appointment took 20ish minutes to finish haha

I paid biometrics fees upfront and we still haven't gotten anything!

Okay that's what I thought. Thanks and thanks for letting me know about needing all papers. I definitely want to come prepared. Where did you park btw? I have an idea where it is heading downtown but there's hardly any parking ever in that area so was just curious.
