At day 227 myself... First one to magic number 365 gets a beer from everyone else when he/she arrives in Canada

I just got TextNow (free app) and selected 416 area code (Toronto). It gave me a 343 area code (Ottawa).

It let me call the IRCC 888 number for free (it goes over data/WiFi, not cellular minutes) from that Canadian number, in case this helps anyone.

I can confirm that the 613 number 1-1-1 options now refuse to transfer you to IRCC. It says to use the web form; it doesn't even give you the number for IRCC.

Very thoughtful for searching an alternate solution. Will download and try it. Let’s see if it works from India too
