I want to find out from those that received their biometrics letter if they are directed to a particular VAC centre. I am visiting in Canada at the moment and wonder if I can go for my biometrics here in Canada and not in the US where I am applying from.

Hi,
AOR - 22nd Jan
MEP - March 1st
the timeline updated to 4 months.
I have a question, when we pass the medical exam, does CIC send an email for us after? I got an email says that I have an update 5 hours after MEP but nothing changed. Thus, I dont know if I am in IP 1 or IP 2...

I think it means IP1.
IP2 is usually when you background check is processing.
But cant say for sure nowadays because IP1 and IP2 are not very relevant anymore.
Some people are known to be going straight to PPR from IP1.
All the best!
Status bar has changed to 4 months.
This wait is killing...

Hi everyone! Any cuban here? I have a specific question about medicals in Cuba.
At the hospital (Enrique Cabrera...el nacional) they told us that the Canadian embassy collects all the results from the medical exam. I don't know if the embassy itself sends the results to the CIC. They didn't even asked for my application number. Furthermore, I just uploaded proof of the appointment with the application since my deadline was Feb 11th and I had the exams on Feb 14th. How does the CIC get the results? I'm worried!
Everyone who has any idea...please help!!
Thanks

I'm not from Cuba but I think the process is similar for every country.
Unfortunately the information that I have says that you need to submit the medical receipt along with other documents. Appointment doesn't hold any importance.
Send an email to cic with the receipt and explain them the reason for delay and hope they consider it.
I have a question on doing biometric, is going to VAC in NYC/LA versus local ASC centers have any benefit? do we have to make an appointment for ASC centers, or walk-in service is possible?

If both centers are approved by IRCC , then it won't make any difference to you. Both will do the fingerprint and iris capturing as per IRCC guidelines and will provide you a receipt that it was completed. Both centers are connected to IRCC ecosystem and results will be sent at once and will be reflected in your applications within days if not hours.
Select the one that is closet and most available to you.
Goodluck

At the time of receiving BIL , it doesn't matter which center you go to. IRCC have no restrictions nor requires you to go to a specific location. The letter will provide you with a link that you can use to search through the closet center at your current location. Same applies to Medicals.
The idea is all centers that are approved by IRCC will do the same job and they are all connected electronically to IRCC so that results can be shared
