Hello, quick question to the experts, If I included a legal name change in my application (I eliminated one of my last names for simplicity) Can It affect the processing time, actually just Application received, also Is this is a family application (2 adults, 2 children) can delay the process in compare with a single applicant. Status update: in process on 24th April
- We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 29, 2018.
- We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on March 2, 2018.
- We started processing your application on April 24, 2018.
Sent my application October 2017 processing states December 2017 wrote test February 15th 2018 and still waiting on ceremony in Scarborough location . Meanwhile my friend who had her ceremony dec 2017 got her ceremony 2 weeks after her test date at Scarborough location as well

Still AOR status. I received AOR on Feb 16th , so two months now and no update
What was the question you asked that the call center agent released such an information?
I called once to ask something, they didn't even want to check my application...
There answer is general ... when i told him that i sent the application on 10 Jan and the they receive it on 15 Jan his reply was : ( consider that we receive it on 15 Feb ) !!!!

I saw the post of jithucan123 from Edmonton. He had done his FP and just enquired and within a hour got test invite by email. He enquired after 3 weeks .
I will be calling on Monday close to 8 a.m.

There's nothing to worry about for most people here in the January thread. Think about how many applications flooded the system in October and November... A backlog was almost certain to occur when it comes time for them to start scheduling tests and oaths, since there are only so many slots available. It's a nice dream to think that processing was going to take a similar amount of time as it historically has, but this is a different situation now. And through this whole time IRCC still estimates that 12 months is the processing time.
Personally I think the wait times between each stage will continue to creep longer and longer while those who applied last year are cleared through to make space for our turns. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong. It just means they're not ready for you yet.
I think for a lot of us here were so traumatized by the fear of the unknown while waiting for our PR, that we've forgotten what the P stands for.
