FYI, you can't get healthcare or drivers license until you have the actual PR card. The COPR isn't enough. They will not issue it. We tried.

my husband got his G license and after that his health card and we haven't received the actual card yet. He could not get the healthcard without his license though because he needed a document with his new address on it!

That is odd. What province are you in? On the OHIP site (Ontario), it explicitly says COPR is acceptable.

I received my passport back with my visa/COPR today! Iam so happy I'll be going home soon...
Exact 8 months + 3 days since applied.
It's been a week only I forwarded my passport! It came back super fast!

I got my COPR yesterday (September 27th)! I actually got COPR without a PPR!

FINALLY ITS GONNA BE OVER!

...now to figure out all the form stuff for landing.. oh boy. Will be landing December 3rd though because we're going down to the states again mid-November for a few weeks and figure it'd be best to do the landing then when I can go make an itemized goods to follow thing.

I think it made a big difference that I emailed the VO asking for urgent return of my passport with a copy of my plane ticket already purchased. Plus, my medicals will soon expire...

HELLO everyone!!

Congrats to those who recently received their COPR ;D

Does anyone have experience importing a car AFTER landing, or could point me to a thread with this topic? The reason I ask is that we have decided we need a second vehicle and are planning to purchase one in the states. I did not include a car on my "goods to follow" because I didn't think I needed a car (turns out when you move from the city to the 'burbs you DEFINITELY need a car!). If I were to purchase a car in Washington or Oregon will I have trouble bringing one back? It will either be new or slightly used...

PS - In BC you do in fact need your physical PR card in order to obtain your driver license and healthcare card. I did receive a "temporary" license in the meantime, however

My wife received her PR Card yesterday! Finally she can get healthcare and a drivers license. She landed in Canada on July 30th, if that helps.
