I just received my second ITA (first one was cancelled as incomplete). I'm about to send in my application this week. I was reading other posts on the forum when I discovered that the expiry of the COPR is set to either the date the passport expires or the medical expires and I have to land before that.
My passport expires in May next year, and my medicals expire in April of next year.
If I am to apply right now (from US), what are my options in terms of extending my COPR date?
1. Should I have my passport renewed before sending in my application?
2. Should I get a new medical done too?
The expiry of the CoPR is set to either the date the passport expires or the medical expires whichever earlier. In your case, you will need to do both (i.e., get medical done and passport renewed). However, I doubt that you will be able to renew your medical before your current medical expires (the doctor may be unable to upload your report through eMedical if you already have an active and valid report). So, going ahead and submitting your application right away would be your best option.
I'm applying for my passport to be renewed.. so I'll send in the new passport when I get the COPR..but what about the medical? Can I renew it and have my COPR extended?
