Hi people, I am a programmer, designer, architect, consultant and I am thinking to apply under NOC code 0213, some persons in this forum have told me that as I have not been a manager, I wouldnt qualify under this NOC code.
I need to know who of the IT people here has applied and how, which noc codes, which job titles do you have, etc.
Hi,
I am working as IT DEV Manager and I am applying under 0213 computer and information system. I am not sure but you suppose to apply under 38 list occupation and there is only one for IT i.e Computer Information syste. But it is a very broad it covers most of the IT designations. Check on the website to get full job Titles and duties.
Thanks
0213 is for IT managers. But lot of people who are not managers but they full fill the job description requirement for 0213 they are applying under this code. So don't hesitate to apply, just apply. This is the last chance for you because it is sure that next year IT people will not be on favorite occupation list.
As they already announce that this year immigrant tab will remain open, so be the part of this flow.

Is it really going to happen that IT wont be in favourite list next year? I am having 3 yrs IT experience as Software Test Engineer in India. Can I apply under 0213?
Also on the page, http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=0213
they have mentioned Classified elsewhere. Links are with nos such as 2174, 2147 etc.
If u open any of the link, it describes about all technical IT positions and not managerial positions like IT Manager etc.
So I am confused abt this. Can I apply under this category?
I was also thinking of applying next yr as I would have 4 yrs experience by next year and can claim more points for work exp?
I request you all to reply on this. Thanks in advance.
