My question is about deadlines for sending passports for visas to be issued. In principle, the deadline for landing (and visa expiry date) is 1 year after the Medicals are sent. But is there any max period for submitting passports imposed in the letter requesting them to be sent to the embassy? For example, if Medicals are sent in March 2010, the visa will be valid from the date of issuance until March 2010. But would it be possible to send it for visas in January 2011 or once you receive the invitation to send passports, there is a deadline imposed (like 3 months period for Medicals, for instance)?

There r 2 questions in your post:
1. About the Visa Expiry,
2. About the pps deadline.
Visa Expiry:
Our Visa/s Expiry is related to either 1yr from the meds OR the expiry date of our pps [either the PA's or anyone's from his/her 'accompanying' dependents]; whichever is 'earlier'.
Pp submission deadline:
The PPR letter will carry an information as to by when u should send the pps to the CHC for visa stamping. Usually they offer 45 days [London], like Explorer suggested. But some CHCs/Cases might give only 30 days.
