Do you know if it is possible or even better to open two separate Family Class Sponsorship applications for parents? One for the father and one for the mother? I think this way they can be processed independently and is better.
But if you start one application for them together (Father as principle applicant and mother as dependent) and the father dies, what happens to the application? Can mother take advantage as the dependent?
My questions are around the first step when you want to get approved as the sponsor.
You can file for 1 parent and add the other as dependent, if they are spouses if they are not then you do 2 separate applications. If 1 of the applicant dies on a "joint" application just notify CIC of the death and they will continue processing of the parent that is still alive.
I say joint because they will be on the same application 1 as primary and the other as a dependant
you can indeed have 2 applications BUT if they are spouses its best to have them on the same application as each application is its own fee and 2 separate application is more fee for you
Yes if the principal applicant dies the application will proceed as along as the dependant is marked as accompanying on the application the only time a death cancels an application is if the sponsor dies you just have to inform CIC one of the applicant dies and they will proceed the application you just have to submit the required info
Actually the fee would not be different because the a) app fee 75, b) main application 475 c) dependent over 22: 550. So If you can move the dependant spouse to a separate application and it would be the same.
Some forums have written that you have to/must include both parents in the same application if they are living together and going to accompany.
if your parents are considered spouse then they should be on the same application you can have 1 as non accompanying if u like
BUT if your parents are not spouse not married etc then you can do 2 seperate application as they are not considered dependants
