My finance and I are planning on getting married soon, and I would like to apply to UBC's physiotherapy graduate :program. He is Canadian and I am American. The only thing is you have to be a resident or have a permanent residency card to even apply to this particular program. The application due date is in about 10 months, and I've heard it takes a minimum of 9 months to even hope to receive your card. Is there any way I can accelerate the process because I am a student, or if my spouse sponsors me will that allow me to receive my card faster?
Any advice or knowledge would be extremely helpful, since we are both completely unfamiliar with everything about this!
I never know there is any special priority for PR processing.
It should go on its routine manner whether you apply under student category or Family Class : Spouse category.
There is a queue system maintained in each visa processing office for the application processing. But each category has its own time line depending on the respective visa office.
