Is a notarized copy of Sponsored persons passport necessary?

Hello, when I send translated/notarized copies of all important civil identity documents do I need to send in a notarized photocopy of my husband's Thai passport? It's already in English (of course) so obviously doesn't need translating.

yes all offical,federal,provincal,or court documents if copied must be notorized

NO, just a photocopy will do. The instructions are in the Region Specific Guide. "If your documents are NOT in English or French, send a notarized..." You said the passport is in English.

His passport is in English. Aren't all nations passports in English?
So, a photocopy of his Thai passport, my Canadian passport and my daughter's Thai AND Canadian passport?

Well i dont know i was always aware that anything that is legal,federal,provincial that you are sending must be notorized....but thats just my opinnion...i wouldnt want my app coming back because i just didnt do it.again my opinnion.its pretty easy to forge a photocopy if it is not notorized.

Well in our personal situation, it will be obvious that we are not living in Thailand but in a third country Mongolia where I work. So how did my husband get here if he doesn't have a valid passport? Won't that be quite obvious in our application? That goes for me and our daughter too. So why would I need to notarize his passport?

Not according to the Instructions where they specifically ask for photocopies of the passport. They won't send your application back if you follow the instructions. But your extra caution is not going to hurt you.

He would have to submit his original passport for visa stamping so they will check for authenticity at that time.
