They said that they continue to process study permit and work permit applications submitted online and permanent residence applications. Paper applications for visitor visas, study and work permits will not be processed until further notice.
Wow, thank you for posting this. That is jarring, I think of the people with disabilities who are disproportionately affected by this (and I'm sure many others :/). Is it because no one is working in a physical location, or is it because they have to leave the paperwork for days before they can touch it?
Do we expect to see something similar with other classes of immigration (such as Spousal), where online applications are not an option? ( I realize it says currently they are processing PR applications, I am just worried about the future).
as far as I heard, OWP applications that were sent with sponsorship applications are exempt from this , because they are part of a permanent residency application
Even more jarring is the "to the extent possible" language for paper applications. Basically just giving themselves an out to do nothing different for family sponsorship applications.
