I am sponsoring my wife who lives in Ecuador. Currently our application is at the Mexico VO. If they do request an interview....would they make us travel to Mexico or would it take place in Ecuador where she is located?

No, necessarily i know someone who was given the option to choose the interview in Mexico or Bogota and this person chose Bogota because it was closer to him.

Immigration told me that they no longer process applications in Bogota. Mine was listed to be processed in Bogota and then changed to Mexico. I called and asked and they said it's because Bogota is no longer open. It would have made sense for mine to go there since we're right next door in Ecuador.

Well, I recommend that you call and ask again because VO Bogota is open. My process is there and a friend's application was received a few weeks ago ... It would be easier to go there for the interview.

Yes it would. Thank you! I'm really disappointed...I did not know it was open as I was informed when I called it wasn't. I was hoping it would go there since we are in Ecuador and know that Bogota is much faster at processing but oh well...
Interviews are generally called when the officer doubts the genuine nature of the relationship. If that happens, your concern is larger than just the location of the interview.

Yes but the Mexico VO seems to call interviews the majority of the time from the people I talked to. Not all of us are able to live with our spouses and to them that seems to be reason for an interview.
