I was an international student for almost 10 years in Canada - started highschool back in 2004. With PGWP +1 year of exp and MS.c. I received ITA this year without LMIA or PNP with CRS 457.
Thanks for your prompt response. This is great news. I've calculated my points after adding 1 year of technical experience and it comes out "376", could be because my IELTS scores are not very high. L 7, W 6, S 6.5, R 6.5. I think I should give IELTS one more time. Any suggestions?
I was international student who did Msc in Canada, currently working on a PGWP , I also have 1.5 years work experience outside Canada , that put me at 481!
Similar situation here. 412 points, with a job, no LMIA. I will become eligible in ~2 weeks
I do agree PNP is probably the only exit for students at the moment because even your employer is willing to re-advertise and fill up pages of forms, they are unlikely to pay you prevalent wage, which gets you a -ve anyway.
The problem for me is SINP (Sask.) requires 2 years of work experiences under category of outside-SK students. (6 months for SK grads) I'm looking towards international worker/EE stream and hopefully get selected for that. (I don't see LMIA being mentioned in SINP applications guide?)
Anyone else in SK here?
Hi, I just saw this post. What do you mean by unless your employer is willing to advertise? How would that help? Please i am looking for anything that can help my case, my PGWP expires in March
In order to obtain LMIA, the first requirement is to have your employer advertise your job on Canada Job bank or your province's job board, and either have nobody apply for your job, or have strong & undisputed reasons to reject the candidates
hi can you tell me if you uploaded your PGWP in your application. It is not in my documents but i guess i should as a proof of me working in canada.
thanks in advance. any help will be appreciated
