Intended place of residence

The Generic Application Form for Canada contains a question asking where we intend to live in Canada.

We intend to stay with my parents in Ottawa for a month or two, until my education term begins, at which point we intend to move (indefinitely) to Vancouver. Should I enter Ottawa, since that's the first place we will be, or Vancouver, since that is the first place we will have an official and long-term place of residence at?

They need an address to send your PR card and where to locate you in case there are any issues with it. If you will be there for at least 45-60 days, use the Ottawa address, as you may not already be in Vancouver by the time it is ready and you don't want it to get mis-directed.

We're putting my husband's cousin's house in London, Ontario as the place since it is defined now, even though we plan to live in Toronto. Worst case scenario, anything arrives there and gets sent to wherever we are. I'd recommend you put Ottawa down.

i'd say just put it the Ottawa address and if you are gone by the time it arrives your parents can just send it to u
