I've tried Sun life before but it doesn't allow me to apply for my daughter. It says it's only for 18 years +. Do I have to get insurance for myself and then add my daughter?

You may not have coverage for the first 3 months in some provinces if you have not met the requirements to qualify for provincial healthcare. You have to reapply for provincial healthcare even if you still have a valid card but have not met the residency obligation in your province to qualify. Depending on the province your child may qualify for provincial healthcare before getting PR.

Depends where you are applying from but if from India, as an example, then processing is 4-5 months. It has only been a few weeks. No one to contact. And if both parents are not even in Canada then that weakens application too.

I have a quick question about the processing time. It currently states 68 days from where I am applying. Does this 68-day period start when I receive the biometric instruction letter, or does it begin when I submit my application?

Additionally, once I submit my application, how long does it typically take to receive the biometric instruction letter?

Processing times do not count BIL.

Thanks for your response. But is it normal that I haven’t received the BIL yet? I submitted the application on 14 November. I read in some forums that they usually get the BIL within a couple of days. Your response is greatly appreciated!

Is this for an infant? Infant doesn’t need it.
