For INLAND when you send the application, it will only be opened after 2/3 months, and by that time you can see your status online on their site.
You will only hear from them after 6/7 months from when they received the application.
For example, I sent my application January 2010, they started to process March 2010 (they opened the file), and now I have to wait until July/August for first stage approval (where they will give open work permit - because we sent it all together).
No srcc I am pretty confident you should be hearing something this month or July.
Count 6/7months from the day they received your application which for you was January 7, 2010.
You don't count from the time they start processing. You count from the date it was received at Vegreville.

Oh...I am sorry, you are correct. Wow I am sorry about that. This is what happens when you only get 4 hours of sleep. Lol.
Yes, you are correct. You should be hearing from them in July or August and best of luck for good news. Won't be too long now.

1) On the CIC web site home page..there is an orange box on the right hand side that says "I need to.." the first option is check application status
2) Accept terms and conditions
3) Choose your identification type from drop down menu (usually your client ID # -located on your travel documents xxxx xxxx)
4) Enter your (the applicant) last name, birthdate and country of birth. Press continue...
If there is an update on your case you may see something there.
We applied May of 2009..
In November we were notified that it was transferred to the local office without AIP (Edmonton office)
and we just got phoned today (June 2010) that we will be having an interview in July..

Finally our Client ID nightmare is solved! We got a call yesterday with a new client ID # for my husband and was told that his file is now seperated from the other persons file. Nothing on E-Case yet, but then again they are probably still getting it all together. A small weight has been lifted. Now we wait... We should be finding out a decision soon on first stage.
How can I open Ecas? pls help, i dont have a client number..I sent my sponsorship application last March 16, and on vegreville rcvd the ff day..i havent heard anything from them yet. thanks
