Hi,

After getting AIP and work permit, applying for the health card (in Ontario) does the 3-month waiting period starts from the day that applicant arrived in Canada or the date that the work permit starts?

Thanks

Thank you everyone :)

adzees: the status online says "In Process" and

We received your application for permanent residence on January 7, 2010.
We started processing your application on March 15, 2010.
We started processing your application on July 6, 2010.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

Why do they have two processing dates ?? :S

I was wondering the same! :)
Does anybody know why the two dates ?

Perhaps she made a mistake while typing those lines?.
I have 3 "A decision has been made and you will be contacted." lines on mine, 2 of them at the bottom of the details, though.

The 3 month waiting period starts from the date on the OWP, that's how it was with mine, srcc.

Love_Young: We went to Yellowknife this past Easter and loved it. I would like to see more of the north, like White Horse and even up to Nunavut. I also would love to see Quebec city and Ottawa but Newfoundland is definitely our next stop, especially after seeing the pictures you posted, it is beautiful.

Boasorte: I love Halifax, especially The Economy Shoe Shop. :P

robrod: I was born in el DF and you are right about it being a serious metropolis. jejeje

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Nice places you've been visiting, MexicaTica!. I would love to see them all but now with 1 baby (and another one on the way), things will be more challenging for sure!.
I hope you have a good day too, job-hunting already?.
El DF esta de chow... ya tu sabes.

Well just so we are cleared up. I didn't take the first picture I posted. I found that on the internet.
But the second I posted, I did take. The second picture is not in Newfoundland, that is at my home in Virginia.
Just didn't want people to be disappointed if they come here and don't see those mountains here. Lol.

Hi everyone! I just would like to say thank you all for this great thread. It helped me a lot to read others going through the same process, which is a big waiting game as we all know. I`m an inland applicant too, I sent my application on 24th of June and it was received on the next day. I called the call centre today and YAY, it is in process since 9th of September. However I could never log in the e-cas with my client ID. Reading your stories I realize how easier is this for me, being on a work permit already for two years and probably will get an extension on it. I already applied as it expires in dec. and have a great workplace who supports me from the very beginning. I never had to be here without sin, health insurance etc. and I can understand how hard is to live without being allowed to work, drive, have health care, especially with children. In our case my husband is sponsoring me, we are married almost for two years now and have a 5 month old son. What I had to compromise on my side that I had to go back to work way sooner that I wanted, even it`s part time now and will be full time from december again. But we can be together as a family and I would rather work than be on a visitor visa if I can. I wish all of you good luck!

i can bet letters with ur AIP might come faster than they update ecas..

Probably, I guess just the matther to wait one more week.

Mine came about a week after they updated e-cas. I have not read of anyone receiving it before then, but there might be an exception to the rule as there always appears to be one or more in life.
It will be in fact 2 letters hopefully arriving on the same day. One for the sponsor, one for the applicant. Nice brown envelopes very light in weight, 2 pages max on each.

No... I didn't make a mistake... when we saw that update my husband called CIC and they said that maybe it was the money that they took out or something, nothing special.

Janadian the started to process my aplication on 18th -march -10
wish each of us all the best
