I applied for spousal sponsorship for my husband on May 18, 2018. I received AOR June 29 2018. I am currently waiting for approval of the principal applicant before we apply for his working permit as this was the advise of our lawyer. Its been roughly 2 months already and haven't heard anything from them. Please advise?
If I understood you are the sponsor, right? Did you applied inland? If so, you could have sent your Open Work Permit (OWP) application with you sponsorship application.
Did you linked your app to get updated information?
Applied for PR and OWP - CPC Mississauga Application Received - July 11th (Police certificate and Schedule A submitted upfront). Application Returned - Aug 22nd (Insufficient fees paid and no Notice of Assessment.)
We didn't know we had to pay $155 for the OWP holder fee in addition to the $100 fee for the OWP.
We submitted a T4 and a letter from my husband's work, thinking that would be sufficient. It wasn't. NoA was needed.
Both have now been done and added to the application. Resent on Aug 27th.
Yes they needed the noa not T4 they dont care and value our T4 i gave them 2016 and 2017 noa myself to make sure then my LOE for confirmation of my Annual Salary. So yea hopefully all goes well. Keep updating.
Hi folks, applied for the wife:
I applied for PR and OWP - CPC MISSISSAUGA
App. sent: Aug. 14 2018 (Police certificate and Schedule A submitted upfront). App. received: Aug. 15 2018
Waiting for AOR
Btw, I didn't have my original NoA (from the mail) on hand so I just sent a print-out of my NoA from the CRA website. Anyone had issues with this? The IRCC/CIC website seems to suggest this is an acceptable substitute but to be honest it doesn't look nearly as nice as the one you get in the mail.

Why not apply for the owp? If u apply just give them your uci number so they already know you have a file. Sorry but i dont think the lawyer gave you a good suggestion. If you read the site it clearly says you can apply for owp the same even if you dont have existing uci or application then just send it to the correct cpc in mississauga.
I'm not too experienced here but I think you don't need to apply for a new OWP once you still have a valid one until Oct 2019. Probably your inland app will be finished by this time, if not you can ask for an extension and in between you'll have implied status, it means that while you're waiting for the extension of your OWP, you keep the same rights.
Check more experienced people's opinions and let us know, we learn together.
Good luck,
André
Yes agree with andre here no need as you still have a valid owp til 2019 its just a waste of money im pretty sure same thing would said if u ask cic agents on the phone. Lucky you.

Do we have a wats app group for August applicants, if not can we make one?

I have applied for my wife inland sponsorship and open work permit in August 2018.
Fees Paid:
1) Sponsor your spouse or partner: 1040 CAD
Sponsorship fee ($75), principal applicant processing fee ($475) and right of permanent residence fee ($490)
2) Open work permit holder: 100 CAD but did not paid Work permit (including extensions) – per person: 155 CAD as i was not aware about it.
Just wondering does CIC will return my application or will deduct 155 fee from right of permanent residence fee ($490) and will ask me to pay the reminder

Someone has suggested the following and it worked for them:
Use IRCC's Web Form to say that you forgot attach the receipt and do attach the receipt when you submit your query. It'll take some days, but IRCC will send you an e-mail, saying that your document was successfully received by the visa office

It could work, but I think you have to do it right away after sending your app in case you state you forget to join the receipt.
Let us know if it works for you.
