Hey guys!!! Since SA on April, I never got any updates so I called CIC and asked about my status of application and they said my app has been transferred to my local office couple days ago!!
Is that a good sign?!
Do you think that means they have started my bgc?! (No update on cic gckey tho :/)

It seems to be a good sign as a lot of Montreal people who have had their file transferred to local office got an update after. Timing varies tho, some a few days after some a few weeks but AIP and BGC seems to be moving forward after transfer.

I hope so... when i looked into other forums, some say it’s because it needs further assessment of either the relationship between applicant and sponsor or the eligibility of applicant.. Anyways I am trying to be positive...!

It seems that CIC distributes apps to other offices to process portions of the applications (such as sponsor approval), which are then transferred to your local landing office for final processing.

I think you are beyond the relationship check, I’m pretty sure this would have come earlier on in the process, I truly believe we are all in the finish line but we were unfortunate to get the slowest line at the register!

When your bgc starts, what is written in gckey under background?
