Surrey, BC
Finally today it shows its been printed.
4-6 weeks is normal processing time. For Surrey OCI is more than 2 months processing time. So be prepared for it.

Evisa seems to be only saviour now.

Better apply once you have SC in hand. Even if you not there BLS will keep your OCI till you come back and collect it.

Ok sounds like a good option, i was only concerned what will they do with my application if its completed.
May be apply OCI for now and may be timelines improve and i may get it back by the time i fly (could be likely touch and go) but i will have Evisa to be safe
Hi Guys,
Has anyone received their Surrender certificate this year from Ottawa branch.
My application date was 08 Feb 2024. Over 7 weeks now. Still Processing at High Commission.
I would like to know the turn around time for this.

What is the status on the site on which you created the online application form you should check the status on it first
"Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate. ".
It has been like this for more than 7 weeks now. Has anyone obtained one recently?

This is really concerning. It should not take that many weeks tbh. Even if one would say Ottawa processes are slow but 7 weeks and the application has not moved to the next stage which is "Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance" and after that "Surrender certificate has been printed"
My suggestion is to contact the HCI, Ottawa right away through
https://suvidha.hciottawa.gov.in/user/
One forum member posted this earlier about his wife's SC issue(but not sure if they applied through BLS in Canada or at the RPO in India):

Hi Abbas,
So when I try to raise a query on Suvidha, it is not accepting my ARN Number. It says "Please enter valid CANO/ ARN No."
Hi Abbas,

Try entering the complete ARN# with the "-" in between
without the "-" it shows the error
with the "-" it seems OK

Yes, That's how I did it. I am kind of worried now.

on the Suvidha query page are you mentioning Canadian or Indian Passport# ?
Since you mentioned, I tried with both passport number. Still the same. with "-" it still says invalid.
