I didn’t realise that passport needs to be signed so I have not signed it yet. I sent it without signature then just the copy is signed. Hopefully they accept it

It says on the Canadian passport that for it to be valid, it must be signed. This is for the 2013 design. I’m not sure if it is the same for the new design.

That's great. Yeah, Ottawa is seriously slow. Quite afraid now of how long the OCI card will take after I apply. For the surrender certificate, it is already 24 days for me and counting.

4 weeks + 2 days approx. from the time it was at the Embassy. Add 2 more days for my walkin sub at BLS MTL.

Submitted passport surrender application via postal. What is best way to track it ?

Tried here :https://www.blsindia-canada.com/ottawa-jurisdiction/track-application.php but nothing shows up .

Here : https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html It shows the application submitted.

You can track on both the link as its postal application may take some time to show up on bls site.

Status of Application is saying processing at Consulate for last 5 days. What is timelines for the processing these days ?

What date did you submit and when did your status changed?

Also try tracking on the passport seva website where you initially filled your application it shows detailed steps where your application is

BLS tracked was first updated on 8 August and has been in the same status since. I check passport seva website also similar status there also

It should move to "Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate." and then "Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance." on Passport Seva site.
