I don't think anyone in this forum will be able to help you
Lol. There's gotta be someone who has been in this situation before.
Did you do in-person submission ?
Whats the search criteria you using in BLS?
yes, I did in person in Toronto with Premium Lounge appointment (paid extra 200 for 2 application). For bls tracking if I use DOB it gives me different person info and if I use passport number it gives me this result :
Dear applicant, your incomplete/ incorrect application is being sent back because of the following reason/s: 1. consulate fees have been revised with effect from 1st april 2021 refer bls website for details, you need to submit the correct fee amount, otherwise application cannot be processed. 2. incorrect place of birth 3. canada address missing 4. re-do online application and sign (print each and every detail as per passport/exactly from passport without any spelling mistakes) we are sending back the following original documents
I am seeing this from day 1. Didn't receive application back or any email.
None of this is true. In premium lounge they checked all details and they suggested the fees and I paid 278/- for each application.
People are telling me, it has to update here
https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html first and then I have to check BLS. Not sure what is happening. This is so frustrating, not able to get hold of anyone at BLS when I call.
Is anyone in this boat ?

I suggest you to call the BLS customer support.
Hi, I applied for Surrender Certificate on May 17th and have been tracking since then.
The status cycle was pretty much the same as mentioned by others until the point of "Surrender certificate has been printed."
However, after that the status changed back to " Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate " after a day which is very weird.
I was wondering if this happened with anyone else as well or anyone may have any knowledge of this to understand whats really going on.
Would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Hi, I have the same issue, application submitted on 14 May. Its still under review after showing that it has been printed.
I have what seems to be an odd situation. I surrendered my Indian passport in 2010, received a cancelled stamp, but no certificate. I've since travelled to India on tourist visa without any issue, and the cancelled stamp has always sufficed. Now, for an OCI, I'm being asked to provide a surrender certificate.
Does anyone have experience navigating this kind of issue?

Can you stick with your query in one thread

Any idea what the next steps would be? I'm concerned about this glitch.

My BLS status changed to’In Transit from consulate general to bls centre’ this evening. I guess it will be delivered soon.
Ah so happy for you! did you by any chance check the passport seva website if the status changed there too? Mine on Passport seva is still under review and on BLS just shows processing at Consulate General. I really hope mine changes soon too!

Passport Seva still says its under review, must be a glitch. I think you will get the update soon too.
Fingers crossed! I did fill in that BLS form although it says you need to input a ticket number to view any response. However, I didn't receive any ticket number so I guess I will just have to wait it out and hope I get an update on BLS side like you did. Please do provide an update when you receive it it'll be good to know in how many days that can be expected to come through
