Just wanted to know..will the BLS office keep my indian passport and work permit with them or they will return it to me immediately over the counter after verification and just take the photocopies for the purpose of indian PCC??
oh..that is really incomprehensible.. ???....why they need the work/study permit??..and also what is the need to keep the original passport with them till the PCC is issued?? really surprising ??? which BLS office did u submit ur PCC application??
Yes, you can get it from Passport office or Local police station also.. I heard, if you apply in a passport office they keep your passport with them until you get your PCC.
I applied from BLS Winnipeg. It is not the requirement from BLS to keep the originals, but it is rather from the CGI. BLS send everything to CGI and CGI holds it with them until they issue the PCC. It is very important to time the PCC and IELTS if anyone is planning for both at around the sametime!

These BLS guys are horrible.. I was tracking my PCC application online and saw the status "ready for collection", so i called bls customer care just be sure that it is ready. Customer care guy from brampton office told me yes it is ready for pickup so i rushed to brampton office to pick it up. But when i reach there they told me its a system bug and your passport is not here with us yet and pcc is not ready.
Could anyone please tell me out of experience/knowledge, how much time does it usually take to get PCC for passports issued outside India and Canada. My passport was issued at Toronto and I got my PCC in less than 2 weeks, however my wife's passport was issued at a middle east country and its more than a month that we have been waiting for her PCC.

Just had a question for u. Ur Indian passport was issued by CGI Toronto, right? what about ur cancelled passport??was it issued from india or elsewhere?
basically, I have the same situation. My current indian passport was issued by CGI Toronto and I am planning to apply for PCC and have no clue how much time it will take. So what is ur opinion about the processing time for PCC in my case?
