Hello!
I recently got married. My husband is an American citizen.
We are both students in university and have a year left until we
finish our degrees. The plan was to sponsor my husband to bring him
to Canada. According to the minimum income requirement for 2 people,
I have to be making around 31k yearly.
My question is, I graduate in the end of April and am hopeful
to secure a full time job shortly after. If I find a job in May or June
where I sign a contract that gives me a salary of over 31k yearly,
would I then be okay to get the application process started to sponsor my husband?
Or do I have to wait until I actually make 31k before I can sponsor him.

Clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't a minimum requirement to sponsor a spouse or partner . Just show proof of loans, family help and write how you plan to support both of you :)

There is no income requirement to sponsor a spouse. The amounts you are referring to is for sponsoring other family members.

You just need to show you can support yourselves and will not need to go on social assistance/welfare after he becomes a PR.
