You know my friends work permit expired, but his sponsorship was passed with work permit application before it did, he had to go get police clearance before AIP and was referred to CBSA or CIC office and he was fine, he even talked to a CBSA officer. This just means he was on implied status. He has AIP now and an open work permit. The visitor visa is just easier I guess because you have a valid document with you, but its up to you. It is not a requirement.
Yeah that totally makes sense too.. I mean thy are both the same forms I'm assuming. I am going to finalize everything tonight. Putting the PR forms along with the OWP form in plastic envelopes in one big envelope won't harm? Just sorting them with those little stickers in between each and every one?
yeah just no staplers. you wont hear anything from them till the AOR email to your sponsor in about 1-3 months so keep your courier receipt as proof you sent it before your permit expired just in case you decide not to do the visit visa. Make sure you double check and triple check everything too and all forms are signed, otherwise it will just lengthen the process. I made my spouse check ours before submission and he find errors I didn't find. I used the Instruction guide while checking each form. Good luck and most likely you get your open work permit in 6 months!
Thank you oh so very much I can't even describe how much I appreciate it! Stressed out isn't even the word today trying to figure out last minutes decisions, so thank you! I am getting my partner to triple check everything when he comes home from work and then we'll send it with courier tomorrow afternoon and hopefully it should be there in time for Monday.
I'll pm you in case there are more things we aren't too sure about it! Ah I can't wait to get over this stress and just know its being dealt with
