Implied Status for work permit along with a valid visitor record

I mean i had never worked/ been in Canada with Work permit before. Do I have implied statuswith OWP?

You can search/apply but can't work until the OWP is actually approved. Doing so would be illegal.

Work permit valid. Visa valid. until December
Applied for extension for work permit and have to leave for 15 days! when I come back both are going to be still valid! Does this affect my implied status? Can still work?

I am on open work permit currently and i wanted to apply for TRV but accidentally I applied for visitor record and i received visitor record now can i work or i have to apply again and convert to work permit?
