Impact of separation (co-signer withdrawal) on existing Parents Sponsorship Application

Hi everyone,

I submitted the application to sponsor both of my parents on June 2019. My wife (married on 2018) was a co-signer at the time because my income alone for 2016 wasn't enough to meet the Minimum Income Requirement for 3 persons (me + my parents). Subsequent years (2017, 2018) I met the Minimum Income Requirement for 3 and even 4 persons (plus my wife).
Now we are going through separation and she wants to withdraw her part as a co-signor. Does that mean basically this whole application is GONE since to my understanding the IRCC will reassess the Minimum Income Requirement 3 tax years prior to the application is filed (2016 to 2018)? My income for 2019 is also enough to support 3 to 4 persons. Will they consider 2019 income or still just 2016- 2018? If so, can I amend the persons being sponsored from 2 (both parents) to just 1(mom or dad)?

You have to sponsor both your parents unless they are divorced. Your wife's income would no longer be counted for all years.

thanks for the reply. Would IRCC consider 2016-2018 for income purpose or they can consider 2019 too?

They are going to consider every year on your application. Not sure if they will assess 2019. 2016 seems to be an issue for you.

they still consider 2016-2018 and they can ask for income in 2019 as well if they want to get the current income situration from you.
