IMM5710E advice needed please

hello,

yet again stuck at one question, I am filling out right now my IMM5710E form for the OWP. I am stuck at filling out my employment history. I don`t know the exact dates when I worked for one company and its impossible to contact that company since they closed and I have no idea where to find my former boss. I don`t know what to do, should I put the date that I THINK is right ? but I don`t want to commit misinterpretation ! Is it common for cic to call former employers under the family sponsorship ? I am somehow starting to feel totally overwhelmed and am so paranoid and scared to put somewhere mistakenly a wrong date or so, that can be seen as misinterpretation.

And for my background check: I also traveled a few times within the European Union for 1 week, 3 weeks and so on, but I really don`t know the dates anymore when I was where, there is no passport check within the EU so I have no stamps from those trips, i just traveled with my car. Any advice on what to do ? thank you very much in advance.

oh, and one more question please, can anybody please explain me, why is it, when I validate the form (in that case the IMM0008) there are 10 big black `bar-code` fields in the bottom of the application ?

You can put general estimated dates, I believe. The month and the year should be fine if you can't remember the day.

That barcode sheet is needed! Put it in front of the immigration forms when you package your application together, this is required by CIC.

Are you using the guides on CIC's website to help you fill out the forms? It might help you feel less overwhelmed. They are IMM 3999 (for the applicant) and IMM 3900 (for the sponsor). This page will make it clear everything you need to do:

so when one don`t know the exact dates, its not such a big problem for cic, I`m glad its not considered misinterpretation when you put approximate dates.
