Submitted on April 13 2023 Additional information requested by ircc about military background. Till now no any update. Everything is completed except background check.
Please excuse me if I am posting in the wrong section. I have some questions about the imm5546e military service record form.
1) Some of the boxes have a small character limit, what have others done when the information is larger than the allocated box on the form?
2) What happens if a position covers a long time with multiple commanding officers over time? especially when you can't remember them all?
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
I used the space provided and tried to be as precise as possible. Did not use a new column just for the sake of getting additional space for roles and responsibilities.
If I were you, I would put names of all commanding officers on same box if the location is same.
Only time i extended data for a single rank in new column was when there was a location change. Something like below and this worked well for me.
1. Rank1 - Location1 - Rank1_Responsibilities - Commanding_Officer_name
2. Rank1 - Location2 - Rank1_Responsibilities - Commanding_Officer_name
Hope this helps.

Good Luck. 10-11 months is what I was hearing and that was my wait time as well.
Any updates guys ? Did any of you receive the visa or the COPR
No update yet. They're not even responding to the emails. This is utterly disgusting. It's been more than a year since we applied and 7 months running since my husband uploaded the military documents and IRCC kept us waiting in the name of security checking. Could someone tell how to reach IRCC so that they give us a decision soon?
Hi bushra did receive any updates from them ? We are in the same boat they requested the questionnaire for my husband
Hi. There is no set timeline for the process of the application after submitting the additional document. Currently it's taking a huge time beyond imagination. Next month will mark 1 year since my husband submitted this document after IRCC requested for this. Still we are waiting for the decision. My husband reached out Singapore IRCC many times by uploading webforms but no response at all. He just got 2 emails within this 11 months stating that his secondary clearance is being done by the CBSA and CSIS. Don't have any idea when this wait time will over. For your information, my husband applied for a open work permit from Bangladesh. Thanks.
Hi Bushra, do you have any update regarding your husband's application? I am on a similar boat, my father is a retired army officer from Bangladesh and he has been asked to submit the military service record table. I am worried about how long the whole process may take, it's already been a couple of months.

If you go back and read this thread, you will find that many applications where Canada has asked applicants for government service records take at least 10 months.
My father submitted his government service record in February 2023 and his application is still being processed.
Im applying for my fathers PR. He has military service record from back in the 90s. I am filling the form IMM 5546e - Details of military service. I have 2 questions:
1) Do we need to fill name of commanding officer as well as Corps commander and regiment commander?
2) Will they request extra documentation for military service? Usually military records are confidential. I doubt my father can get a detailed history letter from the military
I was also wondering, how detailed were you guys in the table? My father also briefly summarised in a few sentences as he doesn't remember every single detail.
How did you sign the IMM 5546 form? digitally or printed and signed the form?
Also is there a need to attach a photocopy of the official military record?

Did you submit IMM5546 with your initial application? by ADR do you mean they asked for some proof of military experience?

Can someone please help on this?
Hi All , I am in the same position. They have requested this information again for my husband. But this time they are asking this " A certified copy of Military records IMM5546" I am unsure about this
